Key Responsibilities

• Operate heart-lung machines and other perfusion equipment during pediatric cardiac surgeries.
• Support the surgical team in pediatric congenital heart procedures for patients aged 0-21 years.
• Manage and monitor cardiopulmonary bypass and related systems, ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Level 3 trauma facility.
• Maintain accurate documentation of perfusion procedures and equipment usage.
• Respond to on-call needs as required, including one call every third weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of perfusion experience, with at least 1 recent year in a Level 3 Trauma setting.
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
• Tennessee Clinical Perfusionist License.
• High school diploma or college degree, essential for CAPS certification.
• Ability to operate POC devices.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel therapy experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with pediatric congenital heart patients, including VAD, VAS, and ECMO (not required for this role).
• Familiarity with equipment such as Spectrum HLM, Hepcon HMS, and CardioQuip Heater Cooler.
• Experience working with pediatric patients aged 0-21 years.
