Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds and airway evaluation.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to assess respiratory needs and responses.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient response to therapies and intervene as necessary.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergency situations to ensure airway safety and effective ventilation.
Required Qualifications
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate in Respiratory Therapy.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Knowledge of advanced respiratory procedures and ventilator management.
- Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills.
