Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity surgical unit.
- Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive surgeries.
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and other oncologic treatments.
- Respond to oncologic emergencies and manage complex patient care needs, including cytokine release syndrome, insulin, and heparin drips.
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and implement fall prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting.
- Valid RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
- Experience with computerized charting systems, preferably EPIC.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology certification (ONS Chemotherapy).
- Experience in a surgical or stepdown care environment.
- Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment.
