Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including ventilator management, EKG interpretation, and monitoring multiple vital signs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float between units as needed within scope to support hospital staffing.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation using Epic electronic charting system.
• Respond to emergency situations in a Level 1 trauma facility and participate in code responses.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including mandatory flu shots and certifications.

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license (pending license acceptable if ETA provided).
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVPICU experience, including heart transplant cases.
• Cardiac trained with pediatric cardiac experience.
• Current BLS and PALS certification.
• Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Willingness to work with a rotating schedule that includes holidays, with some weekend requirements.
• Strong critical care skills and ability to adapt to unit float needs.
• Experience in a Magnet-recognized, teaching hospital environment.
