Registered Nurse ICU

Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, 36-hour night shifts, 13-week assignments, on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for neuro ICU patients, including stroke, hemorrhage, post-neurosurgery, and trauma cases
- Manage ventilated patients, invasive lines, ICP monitoring, and external ventricular drains (EVD)
- Administer blood products, IV medications, and sedation therapies
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, arterial lines, and other advanced neurological equipment
- Follow strict isolation precautions and use PPE as required
- Document patient progress and coordinate care with multidisciplinary team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience
- Strong neuro-critical care background, including stroke management and neuro-specific procedures
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with ventilator management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and neuro-specific skills
- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with arterial line management and neuro-specific equipment such as Camino and NICOM
- First-time traveler experience accepted
- Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR systems

Additional Details
- Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, aneurysms, and seizures
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 2:1, with flexibility up to 3:1 during high census
- No call requirements; every other weekend shift required
- Orientation provided (24 hours over two days or nights)
- Scrubs: Navy blue & white
