Registered Nurse - PICU
Location: San Diego, CA
Schedule / Job Type: Nights, Contract (18 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU, including infants, children, and adolescents.
• Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and perform assessments in a high-acuity environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float within scope to sister facilities as needed, ensuring seamless patient care coverage.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards, including appropriate use of Epic charting system.
• Work scheduled night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required, with guaranteed hours after policy allows.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years PICU experience or strong CVICU background with floating experience.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications.
• Epic electronic medical record experience.
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 holidays, including Eves.
• Willingness to float within scope and cover variable shifts.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior travel nursing experience or floating within pediatric units.
• Experience with advanced care modalities such as ECMO or heart transplant.
• Strong background in neonatal and pediatric intensive care.
