Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Alexandria, LA
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days shift, 13-week travel assignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including PET and PET-CT scans.
- Support other imaging technologists to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and participate in quality assurance measures.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and manage radionuclides and pharmaceuticals in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and image archiving in accordance with department policies.
- Stay informed of ongoing technical updates, certifications, and safety procedures to ensure best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an equivalent program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PET/CT and nuclear medicine setting.
- Active Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or equivalent.
- Valid state licensure (e.g., LRT(N) in Louisiana).
- BLS certification.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with PACS systems.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in outpatient, cancer, or PET diagnosis environments.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and locations within the department.
- Knowledge of QA procedures and safety regulations pertaining to radioactive materials.
