Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during night shifts.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care in a fast-paced environment.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and documentation policies.
• Identify and address patient and family learning needs, discharge planning, and education.
• Supervise and provide clinical guidance to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete age-specific and protocol-based education and competency testing as per unit standards.
• Successfully pass on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting; note that re-test opportunities are limited.
• Float between departments and local locations within 20 miles as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license in the state of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a large Emergency Department.
• Recent completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications from recognized providers (American Heart Association, Red Cross, etc.).
• Ability to pass the onsite BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia) test during the first week of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system (training can be provided onsite).
• Flexible team player with ability to adapt quickly in a high-pressure setting.
