Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care within the observation unit, monitoring acute care patients.
  • Triaging patients and identifying life-threatening rhythms to ensure prompt intervention.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures such as glucose monitoring, Foley insertions, dressing changes, and EKG assessments.
  • Utilize advanced equipment including Alaris Pumps, B450 Monitors, and tele-tracking systems to support patient care.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, documentation protocols, and safety standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, newly built unit with state-of-the-art technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Tennessee Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and EKG rhythm certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac or neuro unit preferred.
  • Experience with procedures such as Foley insertions, dressing changes, and glucose monitoring.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including every third weekend.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience working in neuro or cardiac care units.
  • Strong skills in patient triage and acute care management.
  • Familiarity with Meditech documentation system.

Note: All candidates must comply with hospital dress code (black scrubs for RNs, royal blue for techs, grey for ultrasound). Floating staff will rotate to meet hospital needs.
