Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney-related conditions, including acute or chronic kidney disease requiring renal therapy.
- Float to different units and hospitals as needed to ensure optimal patient coverage.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to deliver comprehensive renal care.
- Monitor and manage patients undergoing post-hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
- Adhere to unit policies, including working every other weekend and holiday requirements.
- Follow all safety and documentation protocols using Meditech EMR system.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Valid Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama or a Compact license (No temporary licenses accepted).
- AHA BLS or Red Cross certification.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a relevant specialty.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in renal units or with dialysis patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple patient needs.
