- Full-time, travel assignment, night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide postoperative care for general surgical patients on a 32-bed unit, ensuring optimal patient recovery and comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
- Float to other units and hospitals as needed, adapting to different patient populations and clinical settings.
- Complete documentation and ensure compliance with facility protocols using Meditech EMR.
- Maintain a safe, healing environment by managing pain, assisting with mobility, and performing bedside procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associated degree in Nursing (ADN or higher).
- Active Registered Nurse license for the state of Alabama or a compact license (no temporary licenses accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a relevant specialty area.
- Ability to work 36 hours per week, including holidays and every other weekend.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a surgical or telemetry unit.
- Comfortability floating between units and hospitals.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to adapt to dynamic healthcare environments.
