Key Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative nursing care to patients scheduled for surgery or procedures.
- Assess patients' health status, verify medical history, and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures by explaining processes and addressing concerns.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely and efficient patient flow.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards, including necessary holidays coverage.
- document patient interactions and maintain accurate records.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a preoperative nursing or specialty setting.
- Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
- Ability to work scheduled hours that include major and minor holidays as required.
- Flexibility to work the scheduled shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a hospital or surgical center environment.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong patient communication and assessment skills.
