Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a 26-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, including post-operative, trauma, respiratory, neuro, and surgical patients.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage complex medical equipment such as ventilators, ECMO, and CRRT.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, residents, fellows, and ancillary staff to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to NICU, CVICU, IMU, or Burn ICU as needed, maintaining flexibility across ICU units.
• Follow facility protocols and compliance policies, including pass/fail testing requirements, proper documentation, and adherence to dress code.
• Assist in patient education and family support, facilitating communication with Child Life & Education specialists.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years recent PICU experience, with at least one prior travel assignment in a similar setting.
• Active Arkansas or Compact RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Recent EPIC EMR experience.
• Ability to pass nicotine and fit tests (facial hair restrictions apply).
• Two years of clinical experience in PICU; experience in IMCU also preferred due to floating responsibilities.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ECMO, CRRT, ventilator management, and complex pediatric care.
• Familiarity with hospitalist staff and collaboration in a teaching hospital environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different ICU units and patient populations.

Note:
This role requires initial orientation, specialty testing, and adherence to all hospital policies. The schedule is driven by management needs, with every other weekend required. No on-call duties; holidays as needed.
