Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute medical-surgical and telemetry patient care on a 51-bed unit.
• Perform bedside procedures including NG tube insertion, peripheral IV placement, and telemetry strip interpretation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
• Respond actively to cardiac rhythms and monitor patient status.
• Document accurately within the Epic EMR system and utilize pyxis medication system.
• Support ancillary staff and participate in a collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license on file.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in telemetry nursing.
• 2 completed travel assignments within a 200+ bed facility or previous experience at a facility within the network eligible for rehire.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS must be completed prior to start).
• Epic experience within the past 2 years.
• Telemetry certification required.
• Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, with on-call responsibilities.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Peripheral IV placement certification.
• Experience with adult patient populations including post-op orthopedic, urology, GI, COPD, CHF, diabetics, end-of-life care, dementia.

Additional Information

• Travel rates: $100/hour; local rate: $90/hour; radius: 50 miles or less; distance measured as straight-line.
• Reliable transportation strongly recommended; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires during winter months.
• 1-2 precepted shifts and orientation available.
• No block scheduling; shifts are scheduled via online system.
• Onsite parking is free; on-call rooms available for on-call staff, except during emergencies.
• The facility is a Level 3 trauma center with 122 beds, equipped with advanced monitoring and support systems, including respiratory and anesthesia support 24/7.
• Applicants must have worked in similar units with aging adult patient populations, and all employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
• Immunization and other health requirements will be verified prior to onboarding.
