Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients in the Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit and Stepdown units.
• Monitor and manage patients with a variety of medical conditions, including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and post-surgical cases.
• Titrate and manage IV drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Heparin, and vasopressors, ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including charge nurses and techs, to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Respond to patient needs promptly and adapt to fluctuating clinical situations effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or initiation of application process.
• Minimum of ICU or Stepdown experience in a hospital setting.
• Proficiency with ventilator management, including trach and vent patients.
• Experience in titration of IV drips (e.g., Cardene, Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Heparin, vasopressors).
• BLS certification required; ACLS recommended.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a rotating schedule.
• Understands and complies with drug-free workplace policies.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry or progressive care units is not sufficient; ICU/Intermediate skills are necessary.
• Ability to interpret bedside monitors and strips from Philips monitors.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for complex patient populations.
