Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care to telemetry patients, including post-cath, cardiac, orthopedic, neuro, oncology, surgical, and overflow units.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, start IVs, and perform dressing changes.
  • Titrate intravenous cardiac medications and care for patients with complex cardiac needs.
  • Float between all Medical-Surgical and telemetry units, including overflow areas such as ED and PACU, as needed.
  • Document patient care efficiently using EPIC EMR and Acu-dose medication system.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and organization in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Active BLS certification (AHA).
  • Valid ND or compact state RN license.
  • Minimum 2 years of strong Med Surg experience.
  • At least 1 year of recent telemetry experience.
  • Ability to start IVs, perform dressing changes, and care for central lines and foleys.
  • Willing to float between units and handle high patient turnover.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with post-cath patients and titrating IV cardiac medications.
  • Comfortable caring for diverse patient populations, including orthopedic, neuro, oncology, and surgical patients.
  • Highly organized and able to thrive in a quick-paced setting.

Additional Notes

  • All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility.
  • Must wear navy blue scrubs.
  • Please specify if the clinician has previously worked for Sanford Health; if so, the prior end date must be at least 6 months before submission.
  • This facility currently uses the COVID unit for overflow.
  • The unit has 18-29 beds with patient ratios around 1:4 to 1:5.
  • 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, with some holiday requirements.
  • Orientation includes 2-3 shifts with a preceptor plus classroom training on charting systems.
