Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality labor and delivery nursing care to patients in a busy teaching hospital
  • Monitor and assist high-risk antepartum, delivery, and postpartum patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Manage high-risk deliveries and post-operative recovery, including C-section recoveries
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic charting systems
  • Respond to patient needs promptly and provide education to patients and families as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina or multistate/compact license
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience
  • Experience with high-risk antepartum, triage, and C-section recovery

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in a Level I trauma teaching hospital setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Additional Notes

  • Shift is 3x12-hour days, with holiday rotation
  • On-call required, 12 hours per 4-week period
  • No floating within scope; float between like units or sister facilities not required
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted; locals may be considered at a reduced rate
  • RTO requests must be included at submission and approved based on unit needs
  • Hurricane season runs from June through November; staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during this period
