Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust nursing care plans accordingly to ensure optimal care.
• Perform focused assessments and reassessments as needed.
• Prepare the surgical suite for procedures, ensuring all functions are performed according to AORN standards and hospital policies.
• Assist with diagnostic exams and procedures, including cardiac monitoring and care for patients receiving procedural sedation.
• Document medications, treatments, and nursing care accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Educate patients and their families based on identified learning needs, evaluating the effectiveness of teaching.
• Maintain safe care standards throughout all procedures and patient care activities within the OR.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse in an operating room setting.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification.
• Proficient in use of EPIC electronic health record system.
• Ability to perform assessments, procedures, and treatments within scope of training.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and adherence to hospital and AORN standards.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patient care.
• Strong communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple hospital departments effectively.
