Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for labor and delivery patients, including assessment, monitoring, and creating individualized care plans.
- Recognize and respond to maternal and fetal health issues promptly and effectively.
- Educate patients and their families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records and communicate effectively with team members.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and the Texas Nursing Practice Act, ensuring compliance and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, medical terminology, and patient care procedures.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in labor and delivery or obstetric nursing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills tailored to diverse patient populations.
- Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
