Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from surgery in a 60-bed Pre-Op & Phase II Recovery unit.
- Monitor patient vital signs, assess recovery status, and ensure patient safety until discharge or transfer.
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to facilitate smooth patient handoffs.
- Document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record system, including Optime and Radiant modules.
- Adhere to unit protocols and maintain compliance with hospital policies, including call and floating requirements.
- Maintain mandatory certifications such as BLS and ACLS.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Experience with EPIC EMR system; Optime and Radiant experience preferred.
- Cardiac care experience is a plus.
- Ability to work varied shifts and respond to call within 1 hour.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC experience, particularly with Optime and Radiant modules.
- Prior PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
- Knowledge of surgical specialties such as ortho, urology, gynecology, bariatric, ENT, dental GI, open heart, neuro, cath lab, EP lab, and pediatrics.
