Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients with diagnoses including dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, dysrhythmias, ABGs, and other vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments such as IV insulin, blood products, Heparin, PCA, and manage central lines, PICC lines, and ports.
• Perform wound care, wound Vac management, and assist with tracheostomy care.
• Utilize hospital systems including Epic and Pyxis for documentation and medication administration.
• Follow isolation protocols for infectious patients, including COVID-19 precautions.
• Respond to emergency situations using Rapid Response Teams and manage non-invasive airway devices like CPAP/BiPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula.
• Participate in unit orientation and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Support patient safety and comfort through proper care and communication.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Ability to interpret EKGs and dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management
• Successful passing of EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring and on-unit dysrhythmia management
• Knowledge of EPIC electronic health record system
• Skills in tracheostomy management and ABG interpretation
• Ability to handle isolation procedures and complex patient care scenarios
