- Full-time, 13-week assignment, mid-shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization, decontamination, assembly/wrap, case cart, and high-level disinfection (HLD) processes.
- Prepare and process surgical instruments and trays, handling a caseload of approximately 65 surgical cases and 1200 tray volume daily.
- Assist in sterile processing for inpatient, outpatient, and trauma settings across various service lines including orthopedic, urology, endoscopy/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, neuro, gynecology, bariatrics, plastics, podiatry, ENT, transplant, robotics, and implants.
- Ensure compliance with sterilization standards and procedures.
- Work within a Level II Trauma Center environment, supporting emergency, outpatient, and inpatient surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience in a hospital setting.
- Certification through CBSPD or IAHCSM.
- Experience with sterilization, decontamination, assembly/wrap, case cart, and high-level disinfection.
- Inpatient, outpatient, and trauma experience required.
- Knowledge of surgery cases such as orthopedic, urology, endoscopy/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, neuro, gynecology, bariatrics, plastics, podiatry, ENT, transplant, robotics, and implants.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience utilizing Sterile Processing Management (SPM) systems.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Previous work in a trauma center environment and with complex surgical procedures.
- Ophthalmology processing experience is a plus.
