Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, travel assignment, nights shift (7PM-7AM, with potential change to 6PM-6AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pulmonary care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and critically ill patients under physician supervision
- Manage ventilators, oscillators, nitric oxide therapy, and draw arterial line samples
- Attend all C-sections and perform intubations when required
- Monitor and operate respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and aerosolized drug delivery
- Perform patient assessments, blood gas analysis, and document care procedures accurately
- Respond to emergency codes and participate in hospital surveys as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Registered Cardiopulmonary (RCP) license in Louisiana
- Current BLS certification via the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification via AHA
- Current PALS certification via AHA
- Current NRP certification via AHA
- Experience with ventilators, neonatal and adult ICU care; NICU experience is required
- Ability to work independently in the NICU environment
- CRT candidates may be considered with relevant experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1-3 years of respiratory therapy experience in an ICU setting
- Experience with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, and nocturnal oxygen evaluations
- Ability to float between facilities (Lake Charles and St. Patrick) and perform in a fast-paced, critical care environment
