Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type:
Travel, Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 13-week assignment, seasonal
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to neurotrauma and stroke patients in a busy medical-surgical unit
- Perform neuro assessments, NIH stroke assessments, fall risk evaluations, and neuro status updates
- Manage patient procedures including trach care and feeding tubes
- Utilize EMR system for documentation and patient recordkeeping
- Collaborate with a team of nursing staff to ensure quality patient care and safety
- Demonstrate critical thinking, initiative, and excellent patient engagement
Required Qualifications:
- Active BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Strong med-surg nursing background (minimum 2 years)
- Ability to perform neuro assessments and protocols
- Flexibility to work night shift hours
- Excellent team and communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- ACLS certification
- Neuro-specific experience, including stroke and neuro assessments
- Experience with neuro procedures such as seizure monitoring, IV pumps, BiPAP, and glucometers
- Passion for neuro patient care and multitasking capabilities
