Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages in the emergency setting.
• Make clinical decisions independently during assigned shifts, ensuring patient safety and effective care.
• Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics, accurately following provider orders and departmental policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring individualized and goal-oriented care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and after-care instructions to promote understanding and health management.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
• Must have BLS and PALS certification upon hire; ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Current Alaska healthcare provider vaccination (flu vaccination).
• Ability to provide fingerprint cards upon acceptance of the role.
• Must have current Alaska license, pneumonia vaccination, and be able to work independently with strong clinical judgment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Prior experience in emergency room nursing or related specialty areas.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to operate advanced medical equipment including monitors, defibrillators, and airway management tools.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
