Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center with a focus on stroke and cardiac cases.
• Interpret and respond to EKG arrhythmias and manage stroke symptoms effectively.
• Document patient progress and coordinate with healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain proficiency in cardiovascular and stroke care, including responding to ICU transfers.
• Adhere to protocols for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license.
• CPR, ACLS, NIH Stroke certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records.
• Ability to interpret EKGs and respond appropriately.
• Minimum of 3+ years experience in MS Tele-Stroke unit.
• Experience in cardiac, stroke, or telemetry nursing settings.
• Successful passing of an EKG competency test on the first day of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one travel contract in a similar setting.
• Knowledge of Level 1 Trauma Center protocols.
• Ability to float occasionally to other facilities within the network (Glenbrook, Skokie, Highland Park).
