Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting for open heart and chest surgeries.
- Assist with procedures including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, Aortic dissections, thoracotomies, and VATS.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Respond promptly to call requests within a 30-minute window.
- Adhere to strict compliance deadlines and maintain readiness for pass/fail EKG exams required by the facility.
- Support sterile procedures and, when scrubbed in, assist with surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in open heart surgery or CVOR settings.
- Ability to scrub surgical cases (preferred, not required).
- Certification in ACLS and BLS.
- Experience with ECMO, LVAD, or Impella devices (required).
- Knowledge of cardiac surgeries such as CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and thoracic procedures.
- Understanding of robotic surgical systems (preferred).
- Availability for 4x10-hour shifts, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on days.
- Must be flexible with scheduling and punctual, with no tolerance for tardiness or unexcused absences.
- Completed pass/fail EKG exam for facility compliance.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior scrub experience in cardiac surgeries.
- Robotic-assisted cardiac or thoracic surgery experience.
- Travel experience in open heart or CVOR settings.
