Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shift, 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend, no call required, on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, including monitoring and supporting patients during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Utilize equipment such as computerized charting (EPIC Stork), fetal monitoring systems (Centricity), and medication systems (Pyxis)
- Support labor and delivery procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including shift nurse leads and other RNs, to maintain quality patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to department protocols and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Valid nursing license for the state of Indiana
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Experience with EPIC Stork documentation, fetal monitoring, and medication systems (Pyxis)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with labor induction or early labor management
- Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and equipment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

Note:
This role involves working nights in a unit with 16 labor and delivery rooms, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of typically 1:1, possibly 1:2 during early labor or induction, with no floating required. Uniforms are provided.
