Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility, working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Collaborate with physicians, staff, residents, and families to develop and implement care plans.
- Perform routine nursing duties including medication administration, vital signs, assessments, and documentation.
- Respond to emergencies promptly, carrying out resuscitation and other emergency protocols as needed.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Assist with patient transfers, lab draws, and other diagnostic procedures as ordered.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely.
- Participate in staff meetings, ongoing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California LVN or LPN license.
- Current BLS (CPR) certification.
- Good physical health and stamina to perform patient care activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Dependable with a strong attendance record.
- Ability to follow directions, adapt to changes, and work as part of a team.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- Knowledge of infection control and emergency procedures.
- Strong assessment skills and ability to respond resourcefully in urgent situations.
