Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit and Stepdown Department.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to rapid response calls promptly.
- Administer prescribed drips and medications including heparin, Tikosyn, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Lasix, and Ketamine.
- Utilize telemetry equipment, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, chest tubes, pacer wires, IV pumps, and other critical care devices.
- Collaborate with a team of RNs and PCTs to maintain optimal patient care and safety.
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license and appropriate certifications.
- ACLS and BLS certification.
- Experience with PCU and cardiac patient care.
- Skilled in managing drips such as heparin, Tikosin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, and other critical medications.
- Ability to work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a rapid response or stepdown unit.
- Proficiency with telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
- Experience with Meditech EMR system.
