Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women in labor, including antenatal, delivery, and postpartum support.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and related surgical procedures.
- Monitor fetal and maternal health, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with OB laborists, anesthesia, and NICU teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Follow established staffing guidelines and maintain compliance with hospital protocols.
- Float to other IU facilities as needed; uphold all unit policies and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license to practice in Indiana.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of labor and delivery experience.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced preferred).
- Ability to work 24 hours per 6 weeks call schedule; including major holidays.
- Flexibility to float to other units within the hospital.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a Level 3 labor and delivery unit.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Cerner charting and neonatal intensive care.
