Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the Cardiac Valve Operating Room (CVOR) environment.
• Circulate during complex heart and lung transplant procedures, including valve replacements and aortic dissections.
• Prepare and manage specialized equipment such as the DaVinci XI robotic system and perfusion equipment.
• Assist in the receiving and cannulation of pump lines from perfusion teams, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.
• Float between units as needed, demonstrating versatility across various perioperative roles.
• Adhere to strict safety and aseptic protocols in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.

Required Qualifications

• Approved RN license to practice in Indiana or a Compact state.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in CVOR or perioperative nursing.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Experience in heart and lung transplant procedures, valve replacements, and aortic dissection surgeries.
• Ability to scrub and circulate with Level 1 Trauma Center expertise.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with DaVinci XI robotic surgical systems.
• Familiarity with receiving pump lines from perfusion teams.
• Flexibility to float across various perioperative specialties, excluding CV & Transplant for less seasoned staff.
• Knowledge of advanced cardiac equipment and procedures.
