Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a high-acuity medical-surgical unit, including ventilator management, telemetry, and respiratory therapies.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to patient needs.
• Execute IV starts, administer medications, and operate specialized equipment such as chest tubes, drips (Dopamine, Heparin, Cardizem), and ventilators.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Follow unit policies regarding RTO restrictions and adherence to safety protocols.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in electronic health records.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a high-acuity setting.
• Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Certification in ACLS and BLS.
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, and respiratory equipment.
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias through EKG analysis.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification.
• Experience caring for COVID-19 positive patients and managing complex respiratory cases.
• Ability to float to similar units and adapt to varying patient care needs.
