Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shift, 12-hour shifts (36 or 48 hours per week), contract (13-26 weeks)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on a Medical Surgical unit with an average daily census of 43 patients.
• Administer medications including insulin and heparin drips, and perform specialized procedures such as wound vac dressing changes and high-flow oxygen delivery.
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations within the inpatient setting as needed.
• Follow established protocols and documentation procedures using EPIC and PAXIS systems.
• Work in a team environment, potentially during inclement weather, storms, or disaster events, including hurricane or mass casualty situations.
• Maintain compliance with unit standards, including appropriate use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience.
• Valid RN license.
• EPIC EMR experience is required.
• Ability to manage insulin and heparin drips.
• Successful pass of EKG testing prior to start.
• BCLS certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CPI certification is preferred.
• Charge nurse or leadership experience is a plus.
• Experience working with COVID-19 patients or in storm/hurricane teams.
