Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for patients in a mixed acuity ICU, PCU, and stepdown unit.
- Monitor and manage adult and geriatric patient populations with various diagnoses including surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive surgeries.
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and other targeted treatments.
- Respond to oncologic emergencies, manage infusions such as insulin and heparin drips, and adhere to strict infection prevention protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal care outcomes.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records using EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid registered nurse license in the state of Ohio.
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Experience with adult and geriatric patient care.
- Familiarity with surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and plastic surgery patient populations.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology nursing certification (ONS Chemo).
- Proficiency with electronic charting systems, preferably EPIC.
- Experience managing complex procedures like cytokine release syndrome, oncologic emergencies, and infusion therapies.
