Key Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures across a variety of specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Transplant, Trauma, Burns, GYN, and Robotics.
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, including robotic systems such as Davinci Xi.
- Maintain a sterile environment and support surgeons by passing instruments and managing supplies during surgeries.
- Float within scope to support different units or facilities, as needed, in a level-one trauma center setting.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, including radiation safety and trauma level requirements.
- Participate in rotating holiday and weekend shifts, working 3 days per week (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA preferred; MUSC does not accept NCCT).
- BLS certification.
- Radiation badge or ability to obtain within agency.
- Eligible to work in South Carolina or within a 60-mile radius of Charleston.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a variety of complex cases including neuro, ENT, robotics, trauma, and transplant surgeries.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and robotic procedures (Davinci Xi).
- Exposure to trauma or transplant cases preferred.
- Ability to float between units and handle diverse surgical cases.
