Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Schedule / Job Type: Days, Temporary/Contract (with potential for extension)

Key Responsibilities

• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as needed.
• Triage and assess antepartum patients over 20 weeks, utilizing obstetric triage acuity tools.
• Conduct labor assessments, fetal evaluations, and monitor for signs of complications such as preeclampsia, preterm labor, rupture of membranes, and more.
• Stabilize patients in emergency situations and coordinate transfer to higher levels of care if required.
• Provide intrapartum care including labor evaluation, fetal assessments, medication administration (e.g., Pitocin, Magestrol, Magnesium sulfate), and preparation for delivery.
• Support expectant mothers through scheduled or emergency cesarean deliveries.
• Postpartum and newborn care, including assessments, medication administration, newborn stabilization, and assisting with procedures such as circumcisions and lab draws.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years current RN experience in labor and delivery or related maternal-infant care.
• Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification (must be through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety).
• NRP certification.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• Ability to pass BCA testing during the first week of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC electronic medical records experience (training provided on-site).
• Previous experience stabilizing critically ill newborns and managing obstetric emergencies.
