Full-time, night shift (12-hour nights), 13-16 week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care in the Emergency Room, handling general surgery and medical telemetry patients.
- Monitor patients with cardiac telemetry and medical interventions, ensuring timely care and treatment.
- Utilize systems such as PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR to document and communicate patient information effectively.
- Float as needed to similar units to support patient care during high census periods.
- Complete 24 hours of orientation prior to start to ensure proper unit integration.
- Adhere to unit protocols, including scrubs in navy blue, and pass EKG testing prior to employment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
- Valid nursing license in the state of North Carolina.
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS; NIH preferred.
- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
- Prior travel nursing experience acceptable; first-time travelers are welcome.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced overflow/holding unit during winter census.
