Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Oncology, Med/Surg, and related patient care with a focus on chemotherapy administration, wound care, and line management.
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as cancer, sepsis, ARF, and other general medical-surgical conditions.
• Administer medications including chemo/biotherapy via IV, PO, or injections, and manage IV lines, ports, PICC lines, and central lines.
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions, wound vac care, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team using systems like EPIC and PYXIS, and participate in unit activities and meetings.
• Float to alternate care units, including inpatient holding areas in the ED, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient Med/Surg experience, preferably with oncology background.
• Ability to administer chemotherapy and manage complex IV access, including ports, PICC lines, and central lines.
• Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification required; Oncology certification not mandatory at start.
• Skills in blood product administration, wound management, and use of medical equipment like chest tubes and nasal cannula.
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to starting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified in CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention).
• Experience as a charge nurse or with OCN certification.
• Knowledge of advanced patient care procedures and emergency response protocols.
