Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 12-hour Night shifts (36 or 48 hours per week, with an option for 48 hours without OT until after 48 hours)

Key Responsibilities
• Manage adult and geriatric patients in a general Med/Surg unit, including those with diverse diagnoses such as COVID, wounds, and respiratory support needs
• Administer insulin and heparin drips, monitor high-flow oxygen therapy, and perform wound vac dressings
• Utilize EPIC and PYXIS systems for medication administration, documentation, and communication via SBAR
• Provide patient care with a patient census averaging approximately 43, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and care standards
• Support unit operations during inclement weather, disaster responses, and unit consolidations as assigned

Required Qualifications
• Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina or appropriate licensure for practice
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg setting
• Experience with EPIC EHR system and medication management (PYXIS)
• Ability to administer insulin and heparin drips, pass EKG testing prior to start
• Certifications: BCLS (Bureau of Certification for Licensure and Standards)

Preferred Experience / Skills
• CPI certification and charge nurse experience are preferred but not required
• Prior experience working with adult and geriatric populations in acute care settings
• Experience handling short-term respiratory procedures such as BiPAP
