Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care within IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, including telemetry and neuro stepdown responsibilities.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and utilize rapid response teams as needed.
• Administer IV therapies, including medication drips, blood products, and manage central lines, PICC lines, and arterial lines.
• Care for post-cardiac procedures, orthopedic trauma, neurosurgical cases, and support patients with ventilators and airway management.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions, wound care, and use of Cerner charting system.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care in a major Level I trauma center.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license.
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU, IMC, or Stepdown experience.
• BLS and NIH certifications; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response procedures.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication management, and ventilator care.
• Skills in managing complex surgical, neurological, orthopedic, and gastrointestinal cases.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and neuro stepdown units experience.
• Exposure to post-cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and trauma patient care.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Teaching hospital or Level I trauma center experience preferred.
