Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients with various diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other hematologic conditions.
- Monitor patient vital signs and manage symptoms related to chemo, transfusions, and other treatments.
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and medications following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care planning and transition.
- Educate patients and families on treatment procedures and post-discharge care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in medical-surgical/telemetry units with oncology background.
- Experience managing hematology/oncology patient needs and treatments.
- BLS certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification.
- Experience with stem cell transplants (autologous, allogeneic, syngeneic).
- Skilled in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
- Proficient in central and peripheral line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration.
