Travel, Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 13-week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care to a 42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit, focusing on acute and chronic respiratory conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, and lung diseases
- Float between units and hospitals as needed, supporting a variety of medical and surgical patients
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team during daily rounds to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Manage a nursing ratio of 1:6 in the general unit and 1:4 in the respiratory step-down unit
- Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards, ensuring quality care during high-acuity situations
- Document patient information accurately using the Meditech electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Valid Alabama State RN license or a Compact license
- BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a specialized respiratory or medical-surgical setting
- Ability to work night shifts, including holidays and every other weekend
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a hospital environment with Meditech EMR
- Strong clinical skills in respiratory care and patient management
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical units and teams
