Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location: Asheville, NC

Schedule / Job Type: Travel, 13-week contract, day shift (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, and Stepdown units.
• Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions such as CHF, MI, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, and post-procedure care.
• Administer titratable cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, and heparin.
• Perform procedures such as bedside cardioversion and assist with patient assessments and interventions.
• Utilize electronic medical records (Cerner) and operate various medical equipment like Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, and lift assist devices.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of current stepdown or progressive care experience.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring.
• Proficiency in administering titratable cardiac IV medications.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Flexibility to float to all MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID, and ER holding units.
• Ability to work every other weekend and on call as required.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin).
• Relief charge nurse experience.
