Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia and recovery care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric surgical patients in a Level I trauma center.
- Monitor and manage patients with invasive monitoring, artificial airways, blood transfusions, and vasoactive medications.
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, start IVs, and handle ICP monitoring.
- Care for ventilated patients and patients recovering from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and other surgical specialties.
- Collaborate with a dedicated transport team and surgical staff to ensure optimal patient recovery.
- work efficiently within a busy, 24/7, 38-bed recovery unit.
Required Qualifications
- Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Missouri (or eligible pending license).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent Level 1 ICU experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Critical care experience with invasive monitoring, ICP management, blood products, and vasoactive drugs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for post-op patients from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and other surgical areas.
- Ability to work night shifts, learn pre-op procedures, and adapt within a high-acuity environment.
