Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute inpatient care in the Progressive Care Unit and Stepdown Unit, managing patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses.
- Administer medications, including insulin and cardiac drips, and perform IV starts and post-cardiac cath care.
- Monitor patients using telemetry and provide advanced cardiovascular support, ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, responding to emergent situations as needed.
- Float across appropriate units to meet patient care needs, maintaining flexibility in scheduling and patient assignment.
- Adhere to unit protocols, including insulin and cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and other treatment procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NY State RN license or proof of application with an applied date.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent tele supervisory experience.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (NIHSS required prior to start).
- Experience with Epic EHR systems within the past 2 years.
- Proficiency with IV therapy, insulin and cardiac drips, and post-cardiac cath care.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and inpatient cardiac care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Hospital setting with a trauma level 2 facility.
- Previous travel or float staffing experience preferred.

Additional Information
- This assignment starts November 17 and lasts between 16-32 weeks.
- Travel rate of $100/hour; local rate of $90/hour within 50 miles; radius rate of $95/hour for 51-100 miles.
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
- No block scheduling; shifts will be posted weekly with self-scheduling options.
- Bi-weekly orientations, with the next scheduled for December 1.
- Reliable transportation is required; personal or rental vehicle recommended with all-season tires during winter months.
- No weekend blocks; working schedule includes nights, with floating across units as needed.
- Patients typically present with diagnoses such as ACS, heart failure, post-PTCA, and arrhythmias, requiring close monitoring and advanced support.
