Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an IMC, PCU, or stepdown unit utilizing the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs to ensure safety, effectiveness, and patient-centered outcomes.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting all actions accurately and in accordance with policy.
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel to maintain high standards of clinical care.
- Meet patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the care episode.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an 18+ bed telemetry or progressive care unit.
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from recognized providers.
- Successful completion of a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam prior to or during the first week of orientation.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic EMR system.
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least one 13-week assignment.
- Adaptability to fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
