Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
• Operate sterilizers, including steam and low-temperature sterilization units
• Reprocess endoscopes and specialized surgical tools, including robotics and GI scopes
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital protocols
• Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles and processing times
• Work collaboratively within service lines such as orthopedics, cardiovascular, ENT, and neurosurgery

Required Qualifications

• CRCST (HSPA) certification only; other certifications like CER, CIS, CHL preferred but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of sterile processing experience
• Experience in a level 1 academic medical center with 20+ ORs
• Demonstrated expertise in decontamination, sterilization, and endoscope reprocessing
• Familiarity with Olympus scopes, loaner trays, and robotic surgical instruments
• Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments and adapt to different service lines

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with DaVinci Robot Xi operation and maintenance
• Recent case processing experience, including trauma and specialty instrument sets
• Knowledge of EMR system and ability to document processing accurately
• Works comfortably with delicate and complex surgical items, including high-level disinfection of flexible scopes
