Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to cardiac ICU patients, including those with post-surgical recovery, cardiac emergencies, and trauma cases.
• Monitor and interpret EKG strips, manage ventilators, drips, sheaths, and dialysis.
• Administer medications, including those via A-Lines and other invasive lines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Follow patient ratios of approximately 1:2, ensuring quality care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience.
• Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; must read and interpret strips.
• Experience with A-Lines, ventilators, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws.
• Must have or be able to obtain necessary licenses prior to start (not required to have license in hand to apply).
• Travel experience preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level 1 Trauma experience is a plus.
• EPIC electronic health record experience.
• Flexibility to float within multiple units or campuses as needed.

Additional Notes

• Must work every other holiday, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
• No Ohio license needed initially; required licenses must be obtained before contract begins.
• Willing to consider first-time travelers.
• OT paid after 48 hours on 48-hour contracts.
• Potential to float between multiple campuses within the health system, as assigned.
• RTO requests must be included with initial application; no RTOs considered after offer.
• Candidates should submit application along with current Nursys report; other certifications should be listed if on the application.
