- Night shifts, full-time, 3x12-hour shifts, eow (every other week)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic patients during pre-op and post-op phases.
- Assist in elective and trauma orthopedic surgeries, including total joint replacements and repairs.
- Monitor patient condition, manage orthopedic-specific equipment such as CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam.
- Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams when necessary to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records to document patient care and progress.
- Adhere to safe patient handling protocols and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience; NO first-time travelers.
- BLS certification mandatory; ACLS preferred.
- Experience with orthopedic trauma and elective surgery, including hip, knee, and shoulder procedures.
- Ability to operate orthopedic equipment such as CPM, immobilizers, and other assistive devices.
- Knowledge of EPIC electronic health record system.
- Pass/fail EKG exam compliance required by the facility.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with orthopedic trauma care and post-operative management.
- Familiarity with orthopedic and trauma surgical procedures.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
